Interior design for the living area of a private house.

realisation 2009

For a private client in Purmerend Studio Voortman & Girod has made a design for the living area. In this design it was about a big living arae with a lower facade to the garden. The lower facade looks a little small in comparison with the living room. The client wanted more light and more cabinets. By using a lot of artificial light and by putting this into a lowered ceiling, this can be easily arranged. The cabinets for the livingroom have been designed like a 'meandering' line of cabinet where all the functions can be put in. At the other wall there is enough space for photographs, which was also a wish of the client.

Ground plan.

The seating area has been placed near to the lowered facade and there is a lot of space for the children to play, to watch television and to walk around. The dining table is at the same place as before, but bigger and made out of the same wood as the cabinet.

sections

One of the walls has been used for the cabinet, the other one can be used for photographs.

3d images of the cabinet. It has an open and partial closed appearance. There are closed areas, shelfs and displays. There is room for a flatscreen in one of the cabinet.
