realisation at the end of 2008

For a private client Studio Voortman & Girod has made a design for the ground floor. The original lay-out was a small living area and little kitchen. At the back of the house there will be an expansion of nearly 2,5 meters. The new kitchen will be realised in the extension. The original back wall will be maintained and the original gap of the window will be maintained as well. Because of this there will be a nice view from the living area into the kitchen and the other way around. The space will feel bigger but the kitchen is not really visible.

One of the walls can be used for cabinets and the other one can stay empty.
In this section you can see how the kitchen is standing behind the old back wall. From the living area people can still look into the back garden.
