Expansion HOED family doctors practice in Bodegraven, the Netherlands.

In this expansion on the backside of the existing building there are 2 new working spaces and a waiting room realised. By using a different material on the exterior for the expansion, the new designed building is recognizable on the outside. However on the inside the existing interior has been stretched in the expansion to make it look like it has always been there. Only the use of color, a fresh green for the waiting area and dark yellow for the working spaces are used to give the expansion its own identity.

The furniture is designed specially for the new spaces.

View on the new pantry in the waiting area. The window above the pantry is a window belonging to the original building and ones was an exterior window. Now the window has become part of the new interior.

The furniture in the doctors room is specially designed. By keeping the desk relatively small the rest of the room can be used for other purposes. It is designed by the wishes of the doctor. The floor covering is green, and there are doors which can be opened to the garden. This gives a visually effect, it seems like the garden starts in the room and make the room look bigger. The finishing of the table desk is made of 'Plexwood', and finished with transparant mat lacquer. This gives an extra dimension to the desk.
The universal space for different uses has a window which provides a view on the street, because the new exterior wall is build just about one meter from the existing building. The colour which is used in this room is dark yellow, this gives a relaxed ambiance. All the furniture (desk and cabinet) is specially designed, so the space can be used optimally.
